Pondering on The Edge Watching The Sunrise

During the spring I spent some time on a beautiful deserted beach in North Wales. It had the most incredible boulders sculpted by the elements. As I watched my dog jump up on one to chase off a seagull, I started thinking of different things that might happen on these boulders. How many animals and people had sat on them looking out to sea and what were they thinking about? It inspired these new little pieces which I call Meditations on Rocks. This piece was hand-built and sculpted in Professional Earthstone, decorated with coloured slips, porcelain wash and underglaze.
